Trinity Academy student meets King Charles
Anika Mistry, a student from Trinity Academy in Bristol, recently enjoyed the opportunity to meet King Charles and a number of Commonwealth leaders at Buckingham Palace.
In her role as the Bristol Youth Mayor, Anika was invited to the King and Queens Commonwealth Reception at Buckingham Palace where she met the Commonwealth Secretary-General, High Commissioners, Foreign Affairs Ministers, HRH Prince William and HRH King Charles III.
Anika spoke with the King about the significance of youth representation. King Charles agreed with the importance of listening to young people and shared that he was proud of Bristol for introducing leadership roles for young people.
Anika was one of the youngest attendees at the event and has shared her experiences with students at Trinity Academy, including thoughts on the leaders she met, what Buckingham Palace is like and of course what the palace canapés tasted like!
“Trinity is extremely proud of all Anika has achieved in her role as Bristol Youth Mayor, the energy she has brought to the role and the experiences she has shared with us,” said headteacher Eiron Bailey. “Anika has informed and inspired our students. She embodies Trinity’s ethos of developing the ‘Head, Heart and Soul’ to become the best versions of ourselves.”
