Congratulations to Cathedral Primary School on their recent Ofsted report
Cathedral Primary School is delighted with their recent Ofsted report. Ofsted graded the school good in all areas with personal development graded as outstanding.
Ofsted recognised the importance of the school’s vision ‘many voices, one harmony’ which they termed a golden thread running through the school. They noted that “the school expects all pupils to achieve highly. Pupils rise to this and learn well across the curriculum. Respectful and warm relationships with staff enable pupils to flourish.”
The inspectors praised the school on their “exceptional” wider offer for pupils. Commenting that “from Reception, pupil passports outline the broad and rich experiences the school provides. These include performing in a cathedral and learning British Sign Language.”
The inspectors said “the school has designed an ambitious curriculum for all pupils. It has set out the knowledge and skills pupils need to learn. The training teachers receive from the trust and school supports them to be confident and accurate in the subject content they teach. Teachers skilfully support pupils to build their knowledge well and retain this in their long-term memory.”
The report recognises the opportunities the school provides for pupils to take part in extra curricular activities such as rock band, art club, sports and chamber choir.
Sara Yarnold, Cathedral Primary School’s Headteacher said: “We are so proud of the positive feedback we received from Ofsted. This report reflects the dedication, hard work of our staff, pupils and wider school community. We will continue to be committed to building on our strengths and ensure this remains a very special place to grow and learn.”
