Celebrations to mark Trinity Academy's first GCSE results

There were big celebrations at Trinity Academy as its first intake of students received their GCSE results.  The outstanding results were the first occasion that Trinity Academy could benchmark its hard work and educational ethos against other schools locally and nationally.

The very positive progress that students have made since primary school means Trinity Academy is one of the highest performing schools in terms of progress in the city and wider region with 25% of grades at 7 to 9 (previously A and A*).

We were particularly pleased that pupil premium students outperformed their non pupil premium counterparts in terms of the progress they made in English and Maths since primary school.   Staff were also really pleased as a performing arts school that some of the best results came from creative subjects including Art, Music and Dance.

Headteacher, Eiron Bailey said, “I am absolutely delighted with our first set of GCSE results.   They are testament to the hard work of our wonderful students and staff.   It is particularly challenging for new schools to achieve strong GCSE results in their first year and Trinity has risen to the challenge.      A particular joy is to see our students able to access their post 16 places of choice because of their exceptional outcomes here, with many staying with us as we open our new Sixth Form this September.”

Neil Blundell, CEO of Cathedral Schools Trust said “We are delighted that Trinity Academy has produced such a stunning set of results making such a positive contribution to education across Bristol. Staff and students have worked incredibly hard over more than five years realising an ambitious educational vision for the local community and for Bristol.”

Trinity Academy sets a high standard of learning for its diverse school community and has a mission for high academic teaching, to be a caring community and to have a strong co-curricular offer. This was recognised in the school’s first Ofsted inspection in January 2024 in which the school’s Leadership and Management and Pupil Personal Development were both rated as Outstanding.

The school is oversubscribed for Year 7 entry and is opening a Sixth Form this September and has received over 200 applications for 125 places.

Trinity Academy will be running the following Open Evenings for entry in September 2025:

Lower School: Thursday 19th September & Tuesday 24th September

Sixth Form: Tuesday 22nd October & Wednesday 6th November
